In the Eyes of a Child

We were eating dinner, and little Dublin, who just celebrated his third birthday, grinned over at me with pizza sauce smeared across his face.
"Lie loo loo," he said.

I love you, too, Boy.

I haven't stopped dreaming of a little brood of my own. That dream doesn't seem so very far away any more.

They're really something, aren't they? Hard to capture it for someone who hasn't paid attention to it himself, though.

And it's even better when they are grandkids, you can hipe them up on sugar AND GIVE THEM BACK :-)

The secret club of grandparents--the love is even better, the enjoyment sharper, sweeter....an older man told me this when I was Matt's age, and I have discovered he was right. My favorite age has just about always been whatever age they are now, children and GCs. It is a wonderful thing for a son to give his mother three more people to love. Talk about riches!

Ever since I was blessed with a fiance, my father's been trying to gently open dialogue on the benefits of raising children - and there are many benefits, and many challenges.

From what I know of you through here and through friends, I know you'll be a terrific dad - and hope you get to bring about and raise some wonderful people of your own.
