Battlegrounds for the Mind

We had six bomb threats that I'm aware of at Buttress this week. The first found us sweltering in the sun in the football stadium for two hours. The others have kept us locked in our rooms while the halls were swept with K9 units and sheriff's deputies.

In other news, I am considering not renewing my contract...

Sounds like somebody is doing lousy in school and looking for dismissal...

DAHM! I didn't know teaching was so dangerous. Then again, my kids have been out of public schools for 10 years.

John,

With your current education and intellect, I'd recommend that you get out of the public school system.

Try teaching undergrad core courses at a private college. I think you will find it much more rewarding and much less stressful.

You could work on a Ph.D. while you're at it. A young, intelligent man with your talents will go far in upper level Academia.

One word of caution, try to stay away from public universities. They are for the most part over-run by bliss ninnies and it's damn hard to keep your career on track without getting a pink slip unless you are a yes man and a Liberal.

Believe me, I've been a Libertarian in the midst of a bunch of whining Liberals for over two decades now. If I didn't have tenure and was not already so deeply vested in the retirement system, I'd tell these folks what I think and move on.

Good luck buddy.

Your welcome bud. I hope things work out for you. It sounds like pretty much anything would be better than what you're doing now.
